James McKeown, our founder, started off as an apprentice serving his time to become a coachbuilder. At just 23, he went out on his own to start JMAR and build a company from the ground up, turning a one-man workshop into the trusted bodyshop it is today. Through the challenges of building a business from the ground up, the support of family proved invaluable. That same dedication to the craft and commitment to quality remains at the heart of JMAR today.
Today, our team of Automotive Technician Accreditation (ATA) certified technicians use the latest equipment, alongside tried and tested techniques to deliver repairs that last a lifetime.

Our Timeline
James McKeown steps out on his own at 23, trading a steady coachbuilding job for a workshop of his own. JMAR is born.
JMAR grows to a team of five, taking on bigger jobs and building a name across the local area.
A brand new workshop rises from the ground, purpose built, fully kitted out, and ready to take on anything that rolls through the doors.
A milestone moment. James's son Jonathan joins the workshop at 16 to serve his time, keeping the family trade alive for the next generation.
A big step forward. JMAR earns British Standards Institution (BSI) approval, locking in insurance approvals and opening the doors to bigger, higher profile work.
Covid hits but JMAR doesn't stop, fixing cars for front-line workers and in the middle of it all, a massive moment for the family: James's second son, David, joins the business at just 15, stepping up to carry the company to new levels.
After two years of training, David earns his place on the world stage, competing against the finest panel technicians from across the globe. Travelling to Thailand and then Lyon, France, he returns with a Bronze medal. A proud moment for JMAR and our family name.
JMAR is now employing its best team of men yet. We couldn't be happier with our team's performance, their willing attitude, diligence, and aim for perfection will never go unnoticed.

Lifetime Warranty.
Every repair that leaves our workshop is backed by a lifetime warranty on workmanship, reflecting our confidence in the quality and longevity of the work we carry out. To keep your cover valid, please take a moment to read the terms below.
Vehicle must remain under the same ownership as at the time of repair.
Vehicle must receive a full check-over by one of our technicians every 12 months to keep the warranty active.
Warranty covers only the specific repair work carried out by JMAR and does not extend to wear-and-tear, accidental damage, or unrelated faults.
No warranty is offered on rust repair.
No warranty is offered on lacquer peel where the paintwork was previously carried out by another bodyshop.
Any subsequent repairs, modifications, or bodywork carried out by another workshop will void the warranty on the affected area.
Proof of the original repair and annual inspections may be required when making a claim.
Warranty is non-transferable and applies solely to the original invoiced customer and vehicle.
